On Sunday March 15 2005 at approximately 10:50 p.m, a single motor vehicle was observed driving erratically southbound on Hespeler Rd in the City of Cambridge. The motor vehicle lost control and struck a light standard causing it to collapse onto the roadway at the intersection of Hespeler Rd and Dunbar Rd. Waterloo Regional Police attended and closed the road to southbound traffic for further investigation. The driver of the vehicle was arrested. A 25 year old Kitchener man was charged for impaired driving, operation of a motor vehicle over.80, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and driving while his license was suspended. He was subsequently transported to Cambridge Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
