Suspended Drunk Driver Caught On London Road

(BLUEWATER, ON) – A 48 year old driver from Hensall will have to attend court to answer to a variety of driving related charges after she was stopped by police last week. At approximately 1:30 p.m. on April 3, 2015 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer spotted a Ford Explorer speeding northbound on London Road at a high rate of speed. The officer confirmed the vehicle’s speed with a RADAR device and was able to measure the speed at 108 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.

The driver was stopped and upon speaking with the female driver the officer detected she had been consuming alcohol. A roadside screening test was performed which resulted in a fail. She was placed under arrest and was subsequently transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. The driver provided two samples of her breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both samples registered over the legal limit.

A driver’s licence check was later completed which confirmed the driver held a suspended driver’s licence and was disqualified from driving.

As a result, 48 year old Wendy WILSON from Sheffield, ON has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol, Drive While Disqualified, Drive Under Suspension and Speeding. Her court date is scheduled for May 11, 2015 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
