Suspended Drunk Driver Arrested – Name Released

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – On August 30, 2017, at approximately 3:00 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on general patrol in the area of Richmond Street and Ten Mile Road, Middlesex Centre.

The officer observed a speeding black Saturn sedan and initiated a traffic stop.

The officer determined that the 37-year-old male driver of the vehicle had consumed alcohol. He was placed under arrest and transported to an OPP detachment for breath tests. The driver’s blood-alcohol level was more than double the legal limit.

As a result of the police investigation, Ronald D. KIRK, of Port Coquitlam, B.C., has been charged with Driving While Ability Impaired and Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood, pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC).

KIRK also faces charges for Driving While under Suspension, pursuant to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) and Driving with Open Container of Liquor, pursuant to the Liquor Licence Act (LLA).

The accused’s vehicle has been seized for 7 days.

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear (PTA) and is scheduled to answer the charges in a London court on October 3, 2017.
