(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On October 10, 2017 at approximately 10:00 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle for a traffic offence on Wells Street, Township of Wellington North.
Investigation revealed that the driver was driving under suspension for three separate licence suspensions. He was arrested for driving while under suspension as well as failing to comply with recognizance. In a search incident to arrest police located marijuana and meth. Police also found a prohibited weapon as well as imitation weapons, break in instruments and stolen property.
39-year-old Shane BALLARD of Mount Forest has been charged with the following:
Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
Possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose
Possession of a prohibited device
Possess property obtained by crime under $5000
Possess break-in instruments
Fail to comply with Recognizance
Fail to comply with Undertaking Before a Justice
Fail to comply with Probation Order
Possession of Meth
Possession of Marijuana
Three counts of Driving while Under Suspension.
He was held for bail court.
The passenger in the vehicle, 38-year-old Kasie BALLARD of Mount Forest, has been charged with the following:
Possess property obtained by crime under $5000
Fail to comply with recognizance
Possession of meth
She is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court November 21, 2017 to answer to the charges.
