Suspended Driver Charged With Impaired – McDONALD

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On June 17, 2019, at approximately 12:00 p.m. an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a driver of red pickup truck on Gowrie Street North in the Town of Fergus for a documents check. While speaking with the driver, officers formed the opinion that the driver was impaired by alcohol. A Roadside Screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested and brought to a local OPP operations centre for further testing.

As a result of the investigation Ryan Calvin McDONALD, 38-years-old of Guelph, has been charged with Suspended Driving and Impaired Operation 80 Plus (mg of alcohol per 100mL of blood). A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The Accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on July 26, 2019.
