Suspended Driver Caught Doing 133 in an 80

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Friday 08 March 2013 shortly before 4:30 p.m. a Perth County OPP officer while patrolling Hwy. 7 south of St.Marys observed a fast moving west bound Chevy Blazer overtaking several vehicles.

The officer who was operating a marked OPP vehicle activated the police radar and locked the Blazers speed in at 133 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. The officer had to veer the police vehicle towards the shoulder to allow the Blazer to completed the pass and prevent a head-on collision. The Blazer was operated by a 53 year old male from London. The male was issued a summons for racing a motor vehicle, and for driving while under suspension. He is scheduled to appear in Stratford Court on May 14, 2013. His driver’s licence was seized and has been returned to the Ministry of Transportation. His vehicle was towed from the scene and has been impounded for 7 days.
