(MILVERTON, ON) – On October 21, 2019, a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Perth County detachment was on general patrol in Milverton and observed a motor vehicle with a loud muffler. The officer conducted a traffic stop to speak with the driver.
In speaking with the driver, it was determined that the driver was suspended from driving.
Evan DEROSBY, 20-years-old, of Perth East was charged the following;
Improper muffler – motor vehicle
Driving while under suspension
The driver is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Stratford on November 26, 2019 to speak to the charges.
The OPP wants to remind driver’s that according to section 75(1) of the Highway Traffic Act, every motor vehicle shall be equipped with a muffler in good working order and in constant operation to prevent excessive or unusual noise and no person shall use a muffler cut-out, straight exhaust, gutted muffler, hollywood muffler, by-pass or similar device.
