Suspended Driver Caught Again – LAKE

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On October 10, 2020, at approximately 11:30 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 6, near Sideroad 5, north of Fergus.

It was reported that the driver had pulled into a driveway and exited the vehicle.

Police spoke with the driver and discovered that they were subject to a driving prohibition and a license suspension.

The driver moved another vehicle in an attempt to prevent the first vehicle from being impounded.

As a result of the investigation, Christopher John LAKE, 43-years-old of Centre Wellington Township, faces the following charges:

Operation While Prohibited Under the Criminal Code

Drive while Under Suspension

Obstructing a Peace Officer

Speeding

Fail to Notify Change of Address-License

The accused’s vehicle was seized for a period of 45 days as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on November 13, 2020.
