Suspect to identify from bank robbery on Montreal Road

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is investigating a robbery that occurred at an ATM and is seeking the public’s assistance to identify the suspect responsible.

On Saturday, May 16, 2015, at approximately 6:35pm, a man attended a bank in the 200 block of Montreal Road to use a bank machine. He was followed into the bank vestibule by another male. As the victim proceeded to make a cash withdrawal, the other male accosted him from behind, grabbed him and produced a knife. The suspect then demanded the cash that had been withdrawn. Having obtained the cash, the suspect then fled eastbound along Montreal Road.

The suspect is described as being a Caucasian male, in his 20’s, approximately 5’9” (175cm), skinny build, dark hair and beard. He was wearing a hooded jacket and jeans shorts (see pictures).
