On February 9, 2014 a Waterloo Regional Police Officer from Central Division – Patrol Branch was on general patrol in the Mill St area of Kitchener, ON. The officer suspected the driver of a 1997 GMC Jimmy was impaired and initiated an investigation. The vehicle failed to stop when directed by police and a brief suspect apprehension pursuit occurred until it was discontinued for public safety reasons. A short time later the vehicle was located on Second Ave with the driver still inside. A 26 year old Kitchener male faces 9 charges and was held for a bail hearing. Charges include Impaired Driving, Over 80mg BAC, Dangerous Driving, Flight from Police and Breach of Recognizance x3. No one was injured during this incident.
