(NORTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON): The Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to assist the South Bruce OPP who is investigating an incident that occurred on Friday afternoon May 18, 2013 where a despondent male party had left the South Bruce County area after indicating he may harm himself.
The vehicle involved was found in the North Bruce Peninsula in the former Eastnor Township, the male’s cell phone and an empty gun case were inside. Due to the unstable nature of the male party OPP resources including the Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Emergency Response Team(ERT), Canine Unit (K9) along with members of the Bruce Peninsula OPP were dispatched to the scene.
The perimeter surrounding the vehicle was secured as members of the OPP conducted a search of the adjacent area. As the investigation unfolded information was received that the male party was in the Tobermory area. He was apprehended without incident and brought to Hospital for assessment.
The South Bruce OPP is continuing their investigation.
