Stunt Racing

Date: Thursday, March 27, 2014 – 3:00pm
On the 27th of March 2014 at approximately 3pm, Barrie Police plain clothes officer was travelling north bound when he observed a vehicle travelling northbound at an excessively high rate of speed. The vehicle was cutting in and out of all three lanes of traffic in order to pass vehicles without slowing down. The officer made attempts to catch up to the vehicle with no success as the vehicle travelled in excess of 170km/hr.

The officer observed the vehicle exit the mapleview on ramp and stop at the red light. The officer approached the vehicle identified himself and had the driver pull off the roadway and await a Barrie Police Traffic unit.

The Traffic Unit investigated the incident and subsequently charged the 50 year old Barrie male with Stunt Racing, careless driving and speeding. The males Mercedes vehicle was impounded for the mandatory seven day impoundment.
