(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers along with Seaforth, Clinton and Mitchell Fire Department firefighters are currently on scene of a structure fire in Seaforth. Just before 3:00 a.m. emergency personnel were alerted to the fire at the Seaforth Foodland located at 95 Main Street South.
Fire crews have been able to contain the fire to the Foodland building. The damage sustained to the Foodland is believed to be a complete loss; a dollar value of the damage is not known at this point.
Nobody was in the building at the time of the fire.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this point. The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal has been contacted to assist with the investigation.
Motorists and pedestrians are requested to find alternate routes as Main Street South is closed between Crombie Street and John Street.
