Occurrence #: BA16051440

Date: Wednesday, October 12, 2016 – 7:30pm

On Wednesday, October 12th, 2016 at 7:30pm a male known to be a friend entered the victim’s room at his residence address on Dunlop Street East, in the City of Barrie, to enjoy an evening drink. After a short conversation the accused became angry with the victim over a rumour he had heard on the street. The suspect grabbed the victim by the throat and punched him two times in the face. The suspect and victim fled the residence at this time but after reporting the incident to police, the suspect was located at 10:40pm at the McDonald’s located at 85 Dunlop Street West. The 36-year-old Barrie male was arrested and charged with Assault. He was also on a Probation Order from a Sarnia Court for a previous assault. He was breaching this probation so the charge of Failing to Comply with Probation was added to his charges and he was held for bail in the morning.
