(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Wednesday morning September 22, 2010, between 1:45 and 2:45 a.m., Perth County OPP officers received numerous calls involving wind damage throughout Perth County. Two of the major road blockages occurred north of Sebringville.
Shortly before 2 a.m. a utility pole with an attached transformer snapped on Line 36 between Road 130 and Road 135 north of Sebringville. This resulted in the pole impeding traffic and one of the power lines to hang less than a meter above the roadway. Hydro One crew’s attended and made temporary repairs. The road was re-opened at 3:30 a.m.
Around 2:45 a.m. officers were dispatched to Road 130, north of the Sebringville fire hall where a large tree had blown over and was laying across Road 130. Township of Perth East road crews attended and shortly before 4 a.m. the road was cleared.
