Stoney Creek Man Arrested – Firearms, Drugs and Cash Seized

On Saturday June 25, 2016, just shortly after 5:30am, Hamilton Police officers were dispatched to a residence in the area of Waterbridge Street and Dorchester Trail after receiving reports of person being assaulted inside of a residence.

The officers attended the residence and observed evidence of drug trafficking in plain view. The officers notified the Vice and Drugs Unit of their findings.

The Vice and Drugs Unit applied for a warrant and were later granted a search warrant for the residence.

Just shortly after 8:00pm, members of the Vice and Drugs Unit and Uniform Patrol executed the search warrant.

Upon search of the residence the following items were located:

1 Kilogram of cocaine

2 press machine used for pressing the cocaine

1 digital scale

Small amount of marihuana

Approximately $50,000 in Canadian currency was seized

Machine used for counting money

A loaded Smith & Wesson 40 caliber restricted handgun with extra rounds of ammunition

An unloaded 9mm Luger MOD Tec-9 prohibited machine gun with ammunition and a high capacity magazine

Shotgun ammunition

CHARGED: Mahamud Ibrahim, 35 year old man from Stoney Creek

CHARGES:

Assault

Forcible confinement

Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine,

Possession of marijuana,

Proceed of crime over $5000,

Fail to comply with recognizance x4,

Unauthorized possession of a firearm x2,

Possess firearm with defaced serial number x 2,

Possess restricted firearm with ammunition readily accessible,

Possess unloaded prohibited firearm,

Possession of a prohibited device,

Careless storage of a firearm x2,

Careless storage of ammunition,

Possess firearm/ammunition/prohibited device while prohibited x4

The approximate value of the drugs seized is valued at over $55,000.

Mahamud Ibrahim’s bail has been opposed and he will appear in court to answer to these charges.
