Stolen Vehicle Recovered

Location: KING ST N, WATERLOO, ON Canada

On Monday, August 8, 2016 at approximately 9:04 a.m., police were notified about a stolen vehicle located in the lot of 550 King Street North in the city of Waterloo at Conestoga Mall. Police observed a lone male enter the vehicle and attempt to start it. The man was then arrested by officers. A search of the man incident to arrest revealed he had a large quantity of stolen credit/debit cards, gift cards, and cash. The man was also Wanted on the strength of a Warrant. The police investigation resulted in a Kitchener man being charged with the following: Theft of Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000, Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest, 6 counts of Possess/Use Stolen Credit Card, 2 counts of Possession of Stolen Property under $5,000, and Breach of Recognizance. Police would like to remind citizens not to leave valuable possessions in their vehicles and to ensure their vehicles are secured at all times as many of the items seized were taken from other vehicles.
