Stolen Vehicle Found In Muddy Field

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Tuesday March 13, 2012 shortly after 9 p.m. Perth County OPP officers were advised that a car was left abandoned in a muddy field on the north-west corner of the intersection of Line 84 and Tremaine Ave South.

Officers attended at the reported location and located a red 2000 Oldsmobile abandoned in the field with the engine running, and its lights and wipers on. The car did not appear to be damaged. A check with the owner revealed that it had been stolen from a residence on Richelieu Ave South in Listowel sometime between 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Tuesday March 13, 2012. The owner of the vehicle advised that the keys had been left in the vehicle but the doors were locked.

The Perth County OPP wants to reiterate the fact that vehicles should be left locked with valuables out of sight and no keys inside.
