Stolen Van Recovered

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Sunday May 26, 2013, around 8 a.m. Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers located an abandoned van on a side road east of Lucan. They contacted the registered owner who had not realized that it had been stolen from his residence on Perth Line 20 in St.Pauls. The owner determined that his unlocked van (with the keys inside) had been removed from his driveway sometime after 1:15 a.m. on May 26th. Some fishing equipment, including a fishing pole and a tackle belt was removed from inside the vehicle.

The Perth County OPP’s investigation into the theft of this van turned up additional thefts that had taken place in St.Pauls:

A resident reported the theft of a Sthil chain saw model 026, from an unlocked storage trailer located behind his residence.

Another resident reported two of his vehicles rummaged through and a Nexstar GPS had been stolen from one of the vehicles.

The Perth and Middlesex OPP are continuing their investigation into these thefts. They are requesting anyone with information about these thefts to contact them at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), and you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
