A 21 year-old Owen Sound man was arrested early Saturday morning after police observed him to be acting suspiciously on the west side.
Around 3:50 AM an officer spotted the man in the area of 9th Street West and 4th Avenue West. He appeared to be carrying a backpack containing tools and he attempted to evade police by travelling through the backyards of a number of private homes.
The man was arrested after a foot pursuit. He was found to be in possession of a number of power tools and hand tools.
The man was later released on a promise to appear and officer in charge undertaking on charges of prowl by night, possession of break-in instruments, breach of probation and assault with intent to resist arrest.
It is believed that the recovered tools may have been stolen overnight. Police are asking the public to check their sheds or garages for signs of entry and report any such incident to the Owen Sound Police Servic
