(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Wednesday morning January 04, 2012 Perth County OPP officers were called to a vehicle in the ditch along Road 143 near Fullarton.
Officers located the abandoned Red F350 Ford truck and determined that it was the same truck which had been stolen shortly after 3 a.m. January 04 from a residence along London Rd. (Hwy 4) in Huron East. The owners of the truck had left the unlocked truck with the keys in the ignition. The truck had been driven north bound on Hwy 4 towards Clinton.
Perth County OPP investigation revealed that the truck had been driven east bound on Road 143 before 8 a.m. when it entered the ditch and got its wheels stuck. The driver (culprit) left the truck and walked to a nearby farm where the unlocked drive shed was entered and some lumber was removed. This lumber was taken back to the truck and was placed underneath the tires. The culprit was unsuccessful in trying to get the truck out of the ditch and left the scene in an unknown direction.
The Perth County OPP is requesting anyone who may have information about this stolen truck, or who saw a suspicious person in the area of Road 143 or Perth Road 163 during the early hours of Wednesday January 04, to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.
