Stolen Firearm Recovered – Parsons, Parsons & Girling Charged

On Friday July 15, 2016, members of the Guns and Drugs Section, consisting of members of the London Police Service and RCMP, executed a Criminal Code search warrant at a residence on Elias Street.

As a result of this investigation, the following items were seized:

– 5.56 mm semi-automatic non restricted rifle (reported stolen in a Break and Enter in November of 2015)

– Two loaded magazines, 10 rounds each

– 180 rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition

As a result, Karen Parsons (54), James Parsons (30), and John Girling (57), all of London, are charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:

– Possession of stolen property, contrary to section 354 (1) ;

– Careless storage of a firearm, contrary to section 86 (1);

– Careless storage of ammunition, contrary to section 86 (1); and

– Unlawful possession of a non restricted firearm contrary to section 91 (1).

In addition to the above mentioned charges, James Parsons is also charged with possession of a firearm while prohibited, contrary to section 117 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
