Stolen Firearm Leads To Charges

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON.) – On September 16, 2013 two young people entered a premise on County Road 9, Town of South Bruce Peninsula and stole a firearm. The two were on conditions not to possess a firearm from a previous incident.

The Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) became involved when they were called due to a report of shots being heard in the Berford Lake area. WhenPolice attended to investigate the shots they were directed to a residence where the young persons were known to inhabit. The firearm was located ona table in the residence along with the young persons. The investigations revealed that the two had committed a break and enter to a residence and stolen the firearm. They had breached conditions of their releases which included not to possess a firearm. They were arrested and charged and held for a bail hearing at Owen Sound Court on September 18, 2013.
