Stolen And Recovered Pickup Truck

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) Shortly after the noon hour on Wednesday September 14, 2011, Perth County OPP officers in Listowel were advised that a pickup truck had been stolen from a parallel parking spot in front of the Listowel Public Library.

It was determined that the owner had parked his blue 1995 GMC Sierra pickup truck in front of the Library around 11 a.m. Unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle located the keys inside and drove away. Police searched the area and broadcasted the description of the vehicle. At 2:30 p.m., the truck was located in a bush behind the Chesley Arena. The Bruce and Perth County OPP are continuing their investigation into this theft.

The public is once again reminded to avoid these crimes of opportunity by locking their vehicles, and removing keys and valuables from inside. The Perth County OPP is requesting anyone who may have information about this theft to contact them at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), and you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
