Statement by Chief Charles Bordeleau following passing of Cst. Michael Robillard

(Ottawa) The Ottawa Police Service mourns the loss of Constable Michael (Mike) Robillard who died in a motor vehicle collision yesterday on his way to work. Mike was currently working as a Detective in the East Division District Investigations section.

Mike was a loving husband to his wife Alyson, proud father to his three-year old son Ben, and valued friend and colleague to many.

He was an exceptional investigator who was proud to be a police officer and had passions not only for his family and policing, but baseball, music, and life in general.

Mike had more than a decade of policing experience and service to the community. Mike had transferred to the Ottawa Police Service in September 2009 after beginning his policing career with the Cornwall Police Service.

Flags at all of our buildings will remain at half mast until sundown on the day of his funeral.
