Stanley McClure Charged

OVER 80 DRIVER STOPPED

(Huron East, ON) On May 30, 2009 at approximately 10:00 pm a Huron OPP officer was patrolling on Moncrieff Road in Huron East when the officer observed an east bound vehicle traveling at a slow rate of speed. The officer stopped the vehicle to check the sobriety of the driver. As soon as the officer approached the vehicle he was immediately able to detect the odour of alcohol on the drivers’ breath. Police also observed open liquor in the vehicle.

A demand was made for the driver to provide a roadside sample of his breath into the approved screening device. The driver complied but failed the test. The man was arrested and taken to the Huron Detachment where he provided two more samples of his breath for a qualified Breathalyzer Technician. Both readings confirmed that the driver had been operating his vehicle with a blood alcohol level above the legal limit of 80 milligrams. Stanley McClure (50) of Central Huron will return to Goderich Court on July 27, 2009 to answer to one count of Drive with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. LP09130839
