Standoff – Madison Ave Update

On Monday, April 27, 2015, a call was made to the London Police Service at 10:50 a.m. advising that the Sherriff was attending 113 Madison Avenue to evict the occupant of the home.

Information was received that the 46-year-old man was armed with a crossbow and was prepared to use force, if required.

The O.P.P. provided assistance and at 10:53 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, the man was arrested as there was a warrant for his arrest for breach of probation.

A warrant was obtained and as a result of searching his residence, the following were seized:

– a crossbow

– multiple crossbow arrows

– a pellet pistol

– 2 silencers for the pellet pistol

– 23 marihuana plants – $23,000

– 2184 grams of marihuana bud – $2,184

As a result of the investigation, Peter Muir was charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:

– Uttering threats of death, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a);

– Two counts of possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, contrary to section 88(1); and

– Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device, contrary to section 91(2).

He was also charged with the following Controlled Drugs and Substances Act offences:

– Unlawfully produce a Schedule II substance, contrary to section 7(1); and

– Possess Schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to section 5(2).
