Staff Recognize Returning Shoplifter – Phillip HOWARTH Arrested

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On February 5, 2018 at approximately 1:20 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) were contacted by an employee from a local store who advised there was a male in their store that they recognized as being a suspect in a previous shoplifting incident from November.

OPP officers attended the area by which time the male had left the store. With the help of the description provided by the employees officers located the male as he was leaving Marks Work Warehouse at 900 Tower Street South.

The suspect was located in the possession of some more stolen property.

44-year-old Phillip HOWARTH of Hamilton has been charged with Possession of Stolen Property Obtained by Crime under $5000 and two counts of Theft Under $5000 – Shoplifting. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on March 6, 2018.
