On Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at approximately 6:35 p.m., Community Foot Patrol Officers observed a physical altercation in the area of Richmond Street near King Street.
One male was arrested after a short foot pursuit and a female was arrested a short time later.
A 32-year-old female and a 46-year-old male both sustained a non-life threatening injury.
The four people involved were known to one another.
As a result of the investigation, 23-year-old Catlin Ireland of no fixed address, has been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
– Two counts of aggravated assault, contrary to section 268(2); and
– One count of possessing a weapon while prohibited, contrary to section 117.01(1).
The accused will be attending court this morning and the female was released with no charges.
