On February 18, 2016, the Guelph began an investigation into a stabbing. It is alleged to have occurred on Carden Street at approximately 1:20 p.m. Two males became involved in an altercation and one male was stabbed. The victim needed several stitches to close the wound. Police identified and located the male responsible at 5:25 p.m. and he was arrested.
A 33-year-old Guelph male has be charged with weapons dangerous, assault with a weapon and assault cause bodily harm. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on February 19, 2016.
Break and enter
On February 18, 2016, the Guelph Police went to a Neeve Street residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the unlocked enclosed porch at the rear of the house and stole a concrete cutting saw.

Car windows smashed
On February 18, 2016, the Guelph Police received six reports of windows being smashed on vehicles. The locations were Stevenson Street North, Cardigan Street, two on Wyndham Street and two on York Road. A theft of change is reported in two of the incidents.
