Occurrence Type: Stabbing in Edgehill Drive Apartment

On Tuesday, March 15th, 2016 at 3:25am Barrie Police responded to a disturbance at 90 Edgehill Drive, in the City of Barrie. Initial calls to Police indicated there was possibly someone stabbed in the incident. Upon arrival, there was blood located in the hallway outside the apartment and no answer at the apartment upon knocking.
Once Police entered the apartment, they located a 33 year old Barrie male who had suffered multiple, non-life threatening stab wounds. The victim was uncooperative with Police, not providing many details to the incident and telling Police he just didn’t feel like opening the door when they knocked. He was transported to Royal Victoria Regional Health Unit for assessment of his minor injuries. As the investigation unfolded, Barrie Police became aware that the male was breaching a current court order. He will be returned to the Barrie Police Service to attend bail court once cleared medically from the hospital.
Barrie Police K9 Thor searched behind the apartment building where is was believed the suspects fled. Thor was successful in recovering multiple items involved in the incident that have been critical for detectives working the case.
At this time Police believe this to be an isolated incident as the victim and suspects knew each other. There is no current concern for public safety. The investigation is still ongoing as Police speak to witnesses and review surveillance video in the area. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective D. Occurrence Type: Stolen Vehicle from Commuter Lot

On Monday, March 14th, 2016 at 1:35pm Barrie Police were made aware of a vehicle that had been stolen from the commuter parking lot at Essa Road and Highway 400, in the City of Barrie. The vehicle’s owner parked overnight from Sunday, March 13th at 1:30pm to Monday, March 14th at 6:00am. When she returned, the vehicle was not where she left it.
