(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Tuesday March 06, 2012 shortly before 2:30 p.m., an OPP officer driving north bound on Hwy. 23 through the Village of Woodham observed an approaching south bound car travelling at a high rate of speed.
The officer activated his police radar and locked the vehicle’s speed at 118 km/h which is 58 km above the 60 km/h posted speed limit. The motorist, a 66 year old male from London was issued a summons for “racing a motor vehicleâ€Â. He is scheduled to appear is Stratford Court on March 27, 2012 to answer to this charge. The man’s driver’s licence was seized and has been returned to the Ministry of Transportation, it is suspended for 7 days. The vehicle being operated by the male, a 2002 Ford Taurus has been towed and will be impounded for 7 days.
