Speeder From Durham Caught With Unmarked Cigarettes – Leo PARKER

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – On May 12, 2018, at approximately 10:15 a.m. the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members were conducting regular patrol duties on Highway 108 just south of the City of Elliot Lake, Ontario.

Police observed a vehicle travelling northbound at a high rate of speed and confirmed this observation by use of radar. Subsequently the vehicle was stopped and the male driver was spoken to. While doing so, a significant number of unmarked cigarettes were observed inside the vehicle. The cigarettes were seized and the driver was charged accordingly.

Leo PARKER, 59 years of age, from Durham, Ontario was charged with:

Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit, contrary to section 128 of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
