On Friday, November 27, 2015, Waterloo Regional Police Traffic officers were conducting speed enforcement in the 50 km/hr zones around the Homer Watson and Block Line Road roundabout in the city of Kitchener. At 10:40 p.m., officers clocked a blue Volkswagen travelling at 105km/hr. Officers stopped the vehicle without further incident. The 38 year old Kitchener male driver was immediately arrested for Stunt Driving. The Kitchener male has been charged with Stunt Driving, Speeding 105km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone, and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. His drivers license has been suspended for 7 days and his car seized for the same amount of time. If convicted, he may face a fine of $10,000 and a further drivers license suspension. During the 8 hours of speed enforcement, Traffic Officers have laid 28 charges with a large number of speeds over 80km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone. Waterloo Regional Police continues to remind the community to slow down and drive responsibly.
