Special Olympics Fundraiser A Great Success

(HURON COUNTY, ON) – A recent fundraiser held by the Huron County OPP Detachment, Huron Auxiliary OPP members and Huron Offender Transport members raised a whopping $4,662 for the Special Olympics program. The road toll was held on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the Canadian Tire-Wal-Mart-Zehr’s plaza located off of Huron Road. The overwhelming generosity from those that donated will directly support the Special Olympics program. For more than 43 years, Special Olympics has been spreading the message: “People with intellectual disabilities can and will succeed when given the chance”.

“The fundraiser was an overwhelming success and I’m absolutely thrilled with the generosity of our community. I would like to thank the businesses for their support and cooperation allowing the fundraiser to take place on their property”. Russ Nesbitt- Huron OPP Acting Sergeant and Special Olympics Torch Run Coordinator
