(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On Monday October 1, 2012 at approximately 1:04am County of Wellington OPP officers were conducting R.I.D.E. checks on Highway 6 southbound near College Avenue in the City of Guelph. At this time and location, officers investigated the driver of a 2004 Volvo that came upon the checkpoint. Police spoke to the driver and discovered that he had been drinking. The driver was administered a Roadside Screening Device test which resulted in a fail.
Southat Thanakeo aged 34 of Ohio has been charged with Over 80 contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Bail Court on October 1, 2012 to answer to the charge.
