South Simcoe Police Daily News Release – 31Oct2016

(Bradford, ON) On Tuesday, October 25, 2016, South Simcoe Police began an investigation into a residential break and enter on Yonge Street in Bradford. A homeowner reported that a suspect was seen on video breaking into the home. A quantity of jewelry, cash and electronics were taken. Using the video, officers were able to identify the vehicle involved, and through investigation identified a suspect. The man turned himself into South Simcoe Police on Saturday morning, just after midnight. A 42 year old man with no fixed address has been charged with Break and Enter and Take Motor Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent. He was held for a bail hearing.

Assistance Requested

(Innisfil, ON) South Simcoe Police are requesting the assistance of the public, after a bizarre incident on Sunday night. An 18 year old man reported that he was walking with his girlfriend on St John’s Road in Alcona when a northbound vehicle passed the couple. The victim heard 4 shots from a BB gun come from inside the vehicle, and was struck in the face by a pellet. The only description of the car was that it was black four door car similar to a Honda Accord or Toyota Corolla. No one inside the vehicle was identifiable.

The victim was treated for his minor injuries by paramedics.

Officers are reminding the public that using a pellet gun or a similar device in a careless or reckless manner can lead to criminal charges.

Suspended Driver

(Innisfil, ON) On Friday, October 28, 2016, just after 4:00 p.m., a South Simcoe Police constable checked a vehicle on Yonge Street in Stroud. When the officer stopped the car he learned that the driver was under suspension. A 55 year old Brampton man was charged with Drive Under Suspension. He will appear in court in December.
