Pharmacy Break & Enter Suspect Update
(Innisfil, ON) South Simcoe Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying suspects caught on video. In the early morning hours of Friday, July 22, 2016, three suspects broke into the Guardian Drugs location on Innisfil Beach Road through a rear door. They disabled the alarm system, then removed a quantity of drugs including narcotics that were secured inside a safe. Citizens are asked to review the attached surveillance photos and call South Simcoe Police at 705-436-2141 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477 if they have any information.
Fugitive Arrested
(Bradford, ON) On Sunday, July 24, 2016, a 49 year old woman turned herself in on an outstanding warrant. She was released to a court date in August charged with Fraud Over $5000.Officers credit social media exposure for this outcome.
A man who accompanied her to the station was also arrested as officers were aware that he was wanted by Nottawasaga O.P.P. on an unrelated warrant. The man was turned over to O.P.P. and transported to their station for processing.
Charges Laid In Collision
(Innisfil, ON) On Sunday, July 24, 2016, just after 8:15 a.m., two cars collided on Yonge Street, between the 9th Line and Innisfil Beach Road. Both vehicles entered the ditch and were severely damaged. Yonge Street was closed for a time while officers investigated the collision. As a result of the investigation, a 22 year old Innisfil woman was charged with Careless Driving. A small quantity of marijuana was found in her possession; she has also been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. She will appear in court in September. Both drivers were transported to hospital and treated for minor injuries.
Warrant Arrest
On Thursday, July 21, 2016, a man failed to appear in court in Bradford on a drug possession charge and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On Sunday, July 24, 2016, the 22 year old was arrested by York Regional Police and turned over to South Simcoe Police. The man is now facing an additional charge of Fail to Appear. He was held in custody for a bail hearing on Monday.
Suspects For Identification
(Innisfil, ON) On July 14, 2016, two kayaks were taken from an address on Lakelands Boulevard in Alcona. The suspects are described as female,white, 5’7 to 5’10, slim build, 18-22 years, dark brown shoulder length hair wearing a beige shirt with racer back top, black shorts and sandals. The male suspect is described as white, 6’0, slim build, 18-22 years, short dark brown hair wearing a blue t-shirt and black shorts. The two kayaks, one orange and one yellow, are made by Future Beach. Anyone with information is asked to call South Simcoe Police or Crimestoppers.
