South Simcoe Police Daily News Release – 23Mar2017

Stunt Driving

(Bradford, ON) On Thursday, March 23, 2017, just before 6:00 a.m., a South Simcoe Police constable was monitoring speeds on Canal Road. He watched an approaching car passing a row of vehicles, and activated his radar. The car registered a speed of 124 km/h; Canal Road is a 50 km/h zone. The driver, a 40 year old Bradford man, was charged with Stunt Driving and Speeding. He will appear in court in May. In the meantime, his licence was suspended for 7 days and his car impounded.

Drivers are reminded that the maximum speed is just that, a maximum. Passing other vehicles does not permit you to exceed this limit, not even temporarily. A conviction for stunt driving, or a conviction for more than 50 km/h over the limit may result in large fines and a driver’s licence suspension.
