South Simcoe Police Daily News Release – 21Nov2016

(Innisfil, ON) On Friday, November 18, 2016, at approximately 8:00 p.m., a South Simcoe Police traffic officer was monitoring speed limits on Yonge Street near Churchill when his attention was drawn to a car moving at a high rate of speed. The vehicle registered a speed of 157 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. A 28 year old man from Innisfil was stopped and charged with Stunt Driving and Speeding. His driver’s licence was suspended and his vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days.

Drive Under Suspension

(Innisfil, ON) On Friday, November 18, 2016, about 5:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police received a call about a possibly impaired driver near Webster Boulevard in Innisfil. The vehicle was stopped and the officer spoke to the driver. The 27 year old woman from Innisfil was not under the influence of alcohol, but was driving under suspension. She will appear in court in December charged with Drive Under Suspension.

WARN Range Suspension

(Bradford, ON) On Saturday, November 19, 2016, police received a call around 4:00 p.m., about a possible impaired driver near the 10th Sideroad at Highway 88. An officer spoke to the 36 year old driver at his home in Bradford. The officer smelled alcohol on the man’s breath and a roadside screening device test was conducted. A result of WARN meant that his driver’s licence was suspended for 3 days.
