South Simcoe Police Daily News Release – 21Feb2017

Damage to Autos / Vandalism

(Innisfil, ON) South Simcoe Police are seeking the assistance of the public in identifying suspects responsible for a series of broken car windows. Over the weekend, car windows were smashed at various residential locations, including Recreation Drive in Sandy Cove Acres, Benson Street, Chalmers Crescent, McNeill Street in Alcona and several vehicles parked at St. Francis of Assisi School on Anna Maria Drive. One vehicle at Bell Ewart Park was also damaged. In several cases minor thefts were also reported. Similar incidents were also reported last weekend.

We are actively seeking suspect descriptions, vehicle descriptions or video surveillance. Anyone with information, no matter how insignificant, is urged to call South Simcoe Police or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Fraud Arrest

(Bradford, ON) On February 3, 2017, South Simcoe Police were notified of a Fraud occurrence, involving a fraudulent cheque. Through investigation, a suspect was identified and contacted. On Monday, February 20, 2017, the woman surrendered to police. A 28 year old Bradford woman was held in custody for a bail hearing charged with Uttering a Forged Document, Fraud Under $5000, Possession of Stolen Property and 5 counts of Breach Probation.

Breach Of Recognizance

(Innisfil, ON) On Friday, February 17, 2017, a man contacted South Simcoe Police. He was the victim of a criminal charge laid earlier in the month. The suspect, his ex-wife, was on conditions to not contact him as a result of the charge. The man provided officers with proof that she had continued to contact him. On Saturday, February 18, 2017, the 44 year old Woodbridge woman surrendered herself. She was held in custody for a bail hearing, charged with Fail To Comply-Recognizance.

Drive Over 80 mgs

(Innisfil, ON) On Saturday, February 18, 2017, just before midnight, a concerned citizen called South Simcoe Police to report an impaired driver. Officers responded and located the suspect vehicle on North Shore Drive. After speaking with the driver, officers conducted a roadside screening device test resulting in a Fail”.
