(Innisfil, ON) On Friday, September 16th at around 8:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police received a phone call from Barrie Police to check on the well-being of a man who was believed to be operating a vehicle in the Alcona area. Approximately 5 minutes later, a North Division officer found the vehicle in question on Jack Crescent and pulled it over. After speaking with the driver, the officer quickly determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol and arrested him for Impaired Driving. He was taken to the station for intoxilyzer tests. As a result, a 49 year old Barrie man is facing charges of Impaired Driving, Driving While Over 80mgs and Operating a Motor Vehicle With Open Alcohol.He was released on a Promise to Appear in Bradford Provincial Court on September 29th, 2016. The man’s drivers licence has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded.
Motor Vehicle Collision
(Bradford, ON) Nobody was injured in a two vehicle collision which snarled traffic on Bridge Street (Yonge Street) during the afternoon rush-hour on Friday. South Simcoe Police were called to the crash on Bridge Street near Dissette Street around 4pm. A northbound Hyundai Tuscon had stopped in traffic when it was rear-ended by a Honda Fit that had been following it. The driver of the Honda Fit, a 28 year old Alliston woman has been charged with Careless Driving.
