On Monday, August 15, 2016, just before 11:00 p.m., a South Simcoe Police constable was on patrol in Bradford on Holland Street West near Langford Boulevard. He watched as two vehicles accelerated away from an intersection on a green light, squealing tires and driving at a high rate of speed. The officer was able to stop one of the cars. An 18 year old Bradford man has been charged with Stunt Driving-Racing. His licence has been suspended for 7 days and his car impounded. He is scheduled for court in September.
WARN Range Suspension
On Tuesday, August 16, 2016, just before 2:00 a.m., a South Simcoe Police constable was in the parking lot of a restaurant in Bradford. She was conducting a static R.I.D.E. spot check in the drive thru lanes when a male driver switched places with his passenger before entering the spot check area. After speaking with the man, the officer conducted a roadside screening device test on him. He registered a WARN. The 24 year old Loretto man had his driver’s licence suspended for three days.
South Simcoe Police are dedicated to reducing impaired driving. It is illegal to operate a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, not just on the highway or street, but also on private property. We will continue to aggressively target those drivers who drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
