Impaired Driving
(Innisfil, On) On Friday, January 6, 2017, a concerned citizen called 9-1-1 to report an erratic driver near Cookstown. Officers began searching for the vehicle, and just before 3:30 p.m. a South Simcoe Police officer located the car in a parking lot in Cookstown. The vehicle was running and the driver passed out at the wheel. A 50 year old Palgrave man was investigated and arrested. He was tested at the station and charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Over 80 mgs. His vehicle was impounded and his driver’s licence suspended for 90 days. He will appear in court later this month.

Stolen Vehicle
(Bradford, ON) On Saturday, January 7, 2017, just before noon, South Simcoe Police received a report for a tractor trailer stolen from the Wal-Mart parking lot in Bradford. The vehicle was recovered about 4:00 p.m., abandoned south of Thornton, where the suspect stole a black Impala from a used car dealership. The truck, a blue Freightliner, was taken from the Bradford area between Wednesday night and Friday afternoon. A gravel hauler trailer that was attached to the tractor has not yet been recovered. The suspect is described as male, white, about 6’2 (188 cm)
