(Innisfil, ON) South Simcoe Police are seeking witnesses after a violent street robbery in Alcona last night. Around midnight, a man was walking east on the north side of Innisfil Beach Road near Jans Boulevard when he was set upon by two men. He was kicked, punched, and hit several times in the head with a tire iron before the men took his wallet and cell phone. The men are described as white, in their 20s, one wearing a red and white sweater. Anyone with information is asked to call PC Scaglione at 705-436-2141 extension 1475 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
Weather Related Collisions
South Simcoe Police responded to 17 collisions overnight, including one where a police cruiser was rear ended. The officer was shaken up, but continued with his duties. South Simcoe Police remind drivers that it is their responsibility to adjust to changing road and weather conditions.
Impaired Driving
(Bradford, ON) On Thursday, December 8, 2016, around 9:15 p.m., South Simcoe Police were called to a two car collision at Holland Street and Simcoe Road in Bradford. Investigating officers spoke to the drivers, one of whom showed signs of alcohol impairment. A 25 year old woman from Beeton was arrested and tested at the South Division. She will appear in court in January, charged with Impaired Driving. Her licence has been suspended for 90 days. The other driver was not injured.
