South Huron Male Faces Drunk Driving Charge

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – On July 5, 2015 at approximately 1:53 a.m. members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) West Region (WR) Highway Safety Division (HSD) observed a possible impaired driver traveling northbound on Elgin Road near Slo-Pitch Road.

Police initiated a traffic stop of the orange Dodge car, and determined that the 35 year old male driver had been drinking alcohol.

A roadside screening device was administered and registered a “fail”. The driver was arrested and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for further breath testing.

As a result of the investigation, Steven HINDMARSH, from South Huron, Ontario, has been charged with driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear, and is scheduled to answer the charge in a London, Ontario, court on August 25, 2015.
