(SOUTH BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – The OPP is conducting its annual Festive R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) campaign from November 25, 2011 to January 1, 2012 and is reminding motorists that province-wide R.I.D.E. stops will be highly-visible throughout the holiday season.
The South Bruce OPP is utilizing all available personnel to participate in the Festive R.I.D.E. campaign. 5 charges have been laid during the second week:
December 8th, 2011 at 3:06 pm, R.I.D.E. check on County Road 15, Kincardine Township. 27 year old Ryan UNDERHILL of Port Elgin was charged with Fail to wear seatbelt. 52 year old Robert VANDERENDE of Kincardine Township was charged with Drive vehicle with no licence and Drive vehicle with no validation on plate.
December 10th, 2011 at 2:37 pm, R.I.D.E. check on Concession 2 South, Brant Township. 20 year old Kyle LYON of Howick Township was charged with Drive without insurance.
December 11th, 2011 at 6:25 pm, R.I.D.E. check on County Road 15, Bruce Township. 27 year Thomas CHLAN of Hamilton was charged with Possession of a controlled substance.
