(KINCARDINE, ON.) – On June 21st, 2010 at 4:40 pm, the South Bruce OPP received a report of a phone scam from a female resident in Kincardine Township. A salesman representing himself as an employee of Solo mobile called the house and pressured her to try and make a sale. A call to Solo mobile revealed that the company hadn’t made any calls to her home.
The South Bruce OPP are warning area residents to beware of high pressure, “limited time offer†sales tactics. Fraudulent phone sales people sound very convincing; don’t be pressured into purchasing something you didn’t want in the first place. It’s ok to hang up the phone if they don’t take “no†for an answer.
