In March 2015, Waterloo Regional Police Service began an investigation into a historical sexual assault. Between 1976 and 1980, a Director of Intake Services with Waterloo Region’s Social Services Department, and also a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada, (now retired) sexually assaulted an 11 year old boy. On Wednesday January 6, 2016 the male was arrested for Indecent Assault on a male (1978). Police believe there may be other victims and are asking them to contact the officer in charge of the Major Case Branch at 519-653-7700 ext. 8671. The male appeared before Kitchener Court on Thursday January 7, 2016.
