(PAISLEY, ON) On February 6, 2013 at 2:42 pm, a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol in Paisley saw a Black Yamaha Phazer snowmobile travelling on Ross Street. The operator wasn’t wearing a helmet. 21 year old Jordan PICKUP of Paisley has been charged with Fail to wear proper helmet and Fail to produce proof of insurance. The South Bruce OPP is reminding all snowmobile owners and operators to become familiar with and follow the rules when riding. Riding with no helmet is not only against the law, it’s unsafe. An approved helmet will help protect you from more serious injuries if you become involved in a crash.
The South Bruce OPP is requesting anyone with information that can assist police to call 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or send a web-tip to crimestop-gb.org, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
